Islam Spread far and wide mainly through the efforts of saintly men. There are many shrines of such saints I every part of our country .In sindh there are many shrines Of shah Abdul latif Bhitai and Qalandar Lal Shahbaz
Shah Abdul latif was born in 1689 in a small village called “Hala Haveli” His father’s name was syed Habib shah. His Ancestors had migrated from Hirat and settled in sindh.
Shah Abdul Latif is lovingly called “Lal Latif” He had a very sensitive mind .The beauty of nature aroused his feelings strongly .He started composing poetry in his child hood . He had great thirst for knowledge and he grew up to be a scholar of Arabic and Persian.He Married at the age of 20.But soon felt restless because his heart was turning towards religion. He soon went to live on a mound near by. He is therefore called shah Abdul Latif bhitai ( shah latif of the mound) He spent most of his time at the bank of the lake near the mound ,prayed there and composed verses in the praise of God.
Shah Abdul Latif  was a musician also. He found great comfort in music .He simplified music and invented a simple musical instrument called”Tambooro”
Shah Latif died in 1752 He was buried on the mound where he lived.He was a poet of common man.
